David Earthrowl is a freehand graffiti artist. He chose Bach's Partita in A minor for solo flute, transcribed for clarinet by Margaret Archibald, to be the background music for his video diary that documents the creation of a mural from the first sketches to the finished painting. Setting to work during the lockdown winter of 2020 David filmed his progress in more than 18 hours of footage that Rob Archibald has condensed into the four chapters of this video.

David writes: “Without realising, sprayscapes has been many years in the making. Graffiti has been a passion of mine from a young age starting out as just a hobby. As time went by I started learning new techniques and pushing boundaries within the medium of aerosol art. Over the next few years I started to get commissioned work, painting graffiti-style bedrooms, landscape scenery murals in schools and more recently being a contracted artist to Global Street Art agency where I’ve been working alongside high-end brands painting large-scale advertising murals all around the UK.”

Everyone Matters was delighted to be able to make a gift of the mural to Beth Ezra Trust, a care home in Purley that has hosted our concerts over many years.
